The result for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET UG) has been announced at the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, today, June 14, 2025. This year, over 22 lakh candidates appeared, out of which, over 12 lakh qualified in the medical entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency. The NTA issued the final answer key earlier today, followed by the much anticipated release of the results.Along with the results, NTA authorities have released the detailed merit list for NEET UG, gender and category wise performance data, qualifying marks, and category wise cut off range. This year, the cut off for NEET UG has been lowered for all categories of candidates. A variety of factors help determine the cut off including the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates appearing for the exam, number of seats available, and the performance given by the candidates.

NEET UG Cut Off 2025

What these scores mean

It’s important to note that these are qualifying cut-offs, not admission cut-offs. The qualifying marks simply indicate eligibility for further rounds, while admission cut-offs for individual colleges will vary based on:

  • Number of seats available
  • College popularity
  • Reservation norms
  • State vs All India Quota seat distribution
  • Candidate performance

For example, government MBBS colleges under the All India Quota (15%) may have closing ranks much higher than the qualifying marks, particularly for the General category.

NEET UG 2025: Number of Qualified Candidates

Out of over 22 lakh registered candidates, a total of 12,36,531 candidates have qualified the NEET UG 2025 exam. This includes candidates across all categories who have met the prescribed percentile and score range. The qualifying statistics indicate a competitive year ahead for medical admissions, particularly in top government colleges.
